Somebody has installed mysql on linux box following stuff are installed.
mysql-4.1.7-8 MySQL-shared-4.1.8-0 perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-5 MySQL-shared-compat-4.1.8-0 But when I type command mysql on prompt I get following error ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) what is going wrong? Please advice ASAP . Thanks! Sanand |

more ques..
when I run following mysqlpd is started and stopped how to keep mysqlpd running on linux /usr/bin/safe_mysqld & Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql STOPPING server from pid file /var/lib/mysql/server242new.computerstrategy.com.pid 050111 21:09:05 mysqld ended thanks SA |
