How do I connect to mysql database on another site?
Hi
I have a website with mysql and another without mysql. I want to connect using php from the one without mysql to the one that has mysql. Normal connection via localhost I am familiar with. I have tried varying ways of specifiying the host but all have failed. I know it must include the site IP or address and possibly 3306 but all fails. The usual appears to be something like myIP:3306 Do I need the address of the mysql server from my hosting company? |

Yes, and you need to set up permissions so that the mysql SERVER is accepting connections from the other machine.
